What is Telemedicine?

A face-to-face appointment without leaving your home.

A telemedicine appointment is just like a regular appointment. You will sit in front of a camera where you will be able to see, hear, and talk to a doctor or other health care professionals at their clinic through video-conferencing, allowing you to be at a medical facility, your home, or another location.
 
Using our HIPPA compliant software, the doctor will send you a text or email message with a link to the video visit.

Due to the intensity of the COVID-19 virus and the recognized importance of eliminating in-person contact as much as possible, we are now offering our patients telemedicine services.

Our goal is to keep people safe by minimizing unnecessary exposure to our patients as well as our staff.

Coronavirus Precautions

Pre visit questionnaire: If you answer Yes to any of the following questions please contact our office before your scheduled visit. (816) 836-2200

  • Have you been exposed to or been around anyone that has been diagnosed with the Flu/Coronavirus?
  • Do you currently have a Fever of 100.1 or higher?
  • Have you traveled outside the United States within the last 3 months

Please note that as patients and visitors enter the clinic registration area, staff are questioning all of their recent travel and detailing symptoms, including fever or respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath or cough.

Out of an abundance of caution, effective immediately, we are changing our visitation policy until further notice. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to visit. The front desk will ask each patient to limit visitors to 1 visitor at a time, preferably a family member.

These measures will be in effect until we are advised by the CDC, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, or the Jackson County Public Health Department that it is safe to return to normal visiting practices. We appreciate your support and understanding during this time.

  • To schedule an online appointment, call (816) 836-2200.
  • You will be required to sign up for the patient portal email. An invitation will be sent when scheduling the appointment.
  • Co-pay due at time of scheduling appointment
  • The nurse will call you 15-20 minutes before the scheduled appointment to get your medical history.
  • You must have a valid photo ID and Insurance Card ready.
  • If you have a previously scheduled Telemedicine appointment please wait to receive a text message asking you to join your provider on a video chat. If you do not receive text messages, please contact the office prior to your telemedicine scheduled appointment to make alternative arrangements. (816)-836-2200

  • Telemedicine is covered by all insurances and medicare.
  • MWGI will file an insurance claim on your behalf.
  • Co-pay is due when the appointment scheduled.
  • Self pay option available for those without insurance.

When the doctor is ready, they’ll send you a link to the video visit via email or text message using our HIPPA compliant software.
